主要在介紹並討論陶器資料在考古學研究中的特性和運用,探尋何種資訊可被獲取出,並以何方法可被獲取,以供考古學家用以達到復原、及瞭解史前人類各層面生活方式的目的。同時檢視以陶器作為研究材料,直至今日考古學可探索的議題為何,發展了那些理論與方法論。

讓修課學生瞭解以陶器作為研究材料,直至今日考古學可探索的議題為何,發展了那些理論與方法論,期學生能學得如何以陶器為分析材料進行研究課題 
課程要求
口頭報告(20%)、討論參與(20%)、期中主題作業 、 期末報告(60%)
